Dr. Marc A. Lewandoski

Founder and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Lewandoski is the founder and Chief Medical Officer at South Shore Medical Care.

Dr. Lewandoski received his Baccalaureate from SUNY Stony Brook, and then attended the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) in Old Westbury, N.Y. for his medical degree. Dr. Lewandoski graduated NYITCOM in Old Westbury, N.Y. in 1997, completed his rotating internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip in 1998, and his residency in Family Practice at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip in 2000.

He was the first official acceptance to his class, for which he received a scholarship. He graduated in the top 5% of his class.

Dr. Lewandoski was the only student of his graduating class to be awarded the Dr. Shepard Splain Excellence in Surgery Award for top honors in that discipline. He was heavily involved in research with the Department of Biomechanics and was the most published student in his graduating class.

Dr. Lewandoski has 20 years of experience in Primary Care. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). Dr. Lewandoski is also the Medical Director of South Shore Medical Care Physical Therapy, a state of the art 2000 square foot facility located in his medical office building. Dr. Lewandoski also tests and treats patients for allergies in a dedicated facility in the same building.

Dr. Lewandoski had initially considered a career in a Surgical Subspecialty but decided to follow the path of Primary Care. “I felt that the direct contact with my patients suited my personality, and the myriad of disciplines encompassing Primary Care offered me the challenge needed to fulfill my passion for medicine.” Dr. Lewandoski attended a residency program in Family Practice at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Lewandoski enjoys spending time with his loving wife, Sheila, and the newest addition to the Lewandoski clan, Luca James Lewandoski. He also enjoys working in his garden and restoring antique cars.

David Moisan, PA

David Moisan is the newest addition to the South Shore Medical Care clinical staff. David graduated from St. Joseph’s College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry, and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from SUNY Stony Brook.

David is passionate about primary care medicine, and is excited to begin his career as a Physician Assistant working with the wonderful staff at South Shore Medical Care. He is committed to patient care and education, as well as his dedication to improving quality of life in patients with acute and chronic illnesses. He is thrilled to continue to develop and improve his skills learned throughout his training in order to provide top quality care for the patient’s at South Shore Medical Care.

“I was first introduced to primary care while rotating through South Shore Medical Care as a Physician Assistant student. This gave me ample exposure to the complexity and broad spectrum of medicine that providers are exposed to on a daily basis. The staff at South Shore Medical Care also taught me how to value patients, and how to see medicine through multiple different lenses. Once I graduated and passed my exam, I was offered the opportunity to join the wonderful, and compassionate staff at South Shore Medical Care, and it was an opportunity that I could not pass up. I always had an interest in primary care medicine, but at South Shore Medical Care I am given the flexibility to create my own approach to medicine, create my own personal relationships with patients, and develop the skills that I learned during my time in school. Working at a facility such as this also allows clinicians like myself to mentor young minds, whether it be Physician Assistant or Medical Students from all over the Island, and provide insight as to the importance and the need for more well-rounded primary care practitioners. Ultimately, South Shore Medical Care continues to help me grow, as I feel I am always learning, and working toward mastering the profession.”

When not working at South Shore Medical Care, David enjoys spending time with his wife and friends, as well as working out, and cooking.
