Dr. Lewandoski’s interest in Medical Marijuana as a treatment modality stems from his experience utilizing a holistic approach to medicine. He is thankful to be able to provide this service for his patients.
Dr. Marc A. Lewandoski is one of the first Physicians to be certified by New York State to specialize in Medical Marijuana treatment. Dr. Lewandoski receives most of his consultations from clinicians including pain management physicians, Gastroenterologists, Neurosurgeons, Orthopedic Surgeons as well as major cancer treatment centers. He has successfully treated, and continues to treat patients for the following conditions:
- Chronic pain (pain that degrades health and functional capability as an alternative to opioid use or substance use disorder)
- HIV infection or AIDS
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
- Parkinson’s disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- Spinal cord injury with spasticity
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Huntington’s disease
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
Dr. Lewandoski has 20 years of experience in Primary Care. Dr. Lewandoski graduated from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) in Old Westbury, N.Y. in 1997. He completed his rotating internship at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip in 1998, and his residency in Family Practice at the Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip in 2000.
He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP). Dr. Lewandoski is also the Medical Director of South Shore Medical Care Physical Therapy, a state of the art 2000 square foot facility located in his medical office building. Dr. Lewandoski also tests and treats patients for allergies in a dedicated facility in the same building.
Dr. Marc A. Lewandoski is a Primary Care Physician with an office in Deer Park. He is the President of South Shore Medical Care, P.C. Dr. Lewandoski is an Associate Professor of Medicine at University Hospital at Stony Brook, Attending Physician at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, Professor of Medicine at the New York Institute of Technology/ New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Clinical Preceptor at Hofstra University, Clinical Preceptor at Touro Medical College, Clinical Preceptor at Long Island University, and Clinical Preceptor at Molloy College.
